After 389 races across four days, featuring more than 2,000 entries, the 41st annual Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy will finally conclude on Saturday as six prestigious Golden Drillers are awarded live on Sportify. With a massive lineup of drivers and events, this year’s competition promises to be one of the most exciting in recent memory.

Key Events and Lineups

The day’s action is set to begin with 44 remaining events, including 32 nail-biting B-Mains (top-two transfer) starting at 10:00 am CT. Opening ceremonies are scheduled for 3:00 pm CT, followed by six cutthroat Last Chance Qualifiers (top-eight transfer) around 5:00 pm CT. The day will then wrap up with the six main events.

Following Thursday’s action, the front half of each A-Main was established through passing points from Heat Races and Qualifiers, which whittled down fields of almost 500 to 16 lock-ins. Looking at these lineups, there are plenty of storylines to follow on Sportify today.

Outlaw Non-Wing Class

The headlining Outlaw Non-Wing 55-lapper will go to the green flag with one of the most stacked front three rows in Tulsa Shootout history. On the front row is a folklore hero and generational ace in Jonathan Beason, alongside Chili Bowl champion and High Limit Racing full-timer Tanner Thorson. Behind them is a pair of four-time Golden Driller winners in the micro sprint classes, with the 2020s Shootout king Emerson Axsom and the micro sprint GOAT Frank Flud. Following them are Daison Pursley, a former Outlaw Non-Wing champ, and another former champion, Jeffrey Newell.

Winged Outlaw Class

In the Winged Outlaw class, still regarded as one of the most coveted Golden Drillers one can earn, Pursley is on the pole in his Chad Boat-owned NOS Energy Drink No. 86. Newell will also be a contender in that one, coming from the third position right behind Pursley. In a rematch of last year’s A-Class thriller, Pursley will have to deal with challenges from his NOS Energy Drink teammate and Sportify broadcaster, Clinton Boyles, driving an Indy Race Parts No. 71B. Behind them lies the reigning Winged Outlaw winner and defending Chili Bowl Nationals champion, Kyle Larson, fresh off a flight from Australia after topping High Limit International for the second-straight year.

Stock Non-Wing Class

In the Stock Non-Wing class, which will serve as the first feature, the chances are high for a first-time Golden Driller winner with the front seven starting spots all occupied by drivers in pursuit of that honor. Coming from the pole position is a kid from Pennsylvania, Cullen Hutchison, who is trying to join a historic category including Giovanni Scelzi, Jerrod Wilson, Bryan Clauson, and Brady Bacon as 13-year-old champions of a Stock/Outlaw division at the Tulsa Shootout. Floridian Noah Carpenter will be flanked by a pair of up-and-coming stars in the sprint car ranks from both coasts with Californian Jake Andreotti and Pennsylvanian Briggs Danner in row two. Row three brings you local runner Brock Berretth, who jumped 100 positions in the Qualifiers, and 12-year-old Braxton Flatt amid an impressive week in the adult classes.

A-Class Division

The A-Class division includes 11 of the front 12 starters chasing their first Golden Driller, with veteran Frank Flud sandwiched in between them, starting fourth. Starting on the front row, however, is a pair of young left coasters with Jett Yantis and Austin Torgerson sharing the best seats in the house. This 30-lapper is another of Daison Pursley’s best chances to finally earn a long-awaited Shootout title, coming from the third position. Another young star in Garrett Benson, the reigning ASCS Rookie of the Year, comes from behind them in the fifth spot.

Restricted Class

In Restricted, Pennsylvanian Brianna Snyder used a huge Qualifier run to skyrocket atop the points and earn the pole position. She’ll try to join Dahnelynn McKay, Kaylee Bryson, Jade Avedisian, and Haidyn Hansen as the fifth female winner of a micro sprint title at the Tulsa Shootout. She’ll share the front row with Californian Braxon Vasoncellos. Right behind them starting third is that kid named Larson – no, no, not “Yung Money” Kyle Larson – even “Yunger Money” Owen Larson in his Chad Boat-led HendrickCars.com No. 83L ride.

Jr. Sprint Kids

The ever-popular Jr. Sprint kids will be paced by Pennsylvanian Jax Wittmer and Illinoisian Grayson Graham at the front of the field. Two young stars in Gage Pio and Hudson Andrews will start right behind them with Luke Coates and Breck Buoy closely in tow.

Quadruple Duty Contenders

With 92 feature positions already claimed and 48 remaining, Oklahoma natives Daison Pursley and Frank Flud are the only drivers to have earned three feature starts – and all of them are coming in the top-ten positions, making them night-long title contenders. Of everyone in “Quadruple Duty” contention, Flud has the greatest chance to start all four Stock/Outlaw features as he only needs a transfer into Winged Outlaw, and he starts on the front row of a Saturday morning B-Main.

Other notables still in contention for the noteworthy “Quadruple Duty” feat with some miracle B-Main runs include Logan Seavey, KJ Snow, Chase Randall, Steven Snyder Jr, Cole Roberts, Emerson Axsom, Parker Perry, Kris Carroll, Jett Nunley, and Ty Gibbs.
