All-Delco Football Team Highlights

The All-Delco football team showcases some of the most talented players from the region, each contributing significantly to their respective teams. Alongside Daily Times Player of the Year Luke Valerio of Springfield, several standout athletes have made their mark in 2025.

Jalen Harris – Chester

Jalen Harris, the senior quarterback for Chester, made history as the all-time leading passer with 8,140 career yards. His leadership guided the Clippers to a program-best 13-1 season and a second District 1 Class 5A championship appearance in three years. Harris completed 66.8% of his passes (117 of 175) for 2,258 yards and 25 touchdowns. A four-year starter, he led Chester to four straight Del Val League titles without a loss in the league and a 45-7 record over that span. As a dual threat, he also rushed for 516 yards and 19 touchdowns and made an impact on defense with 36 tackles and four interceptions.

Amahj Gowans – Cardinal O’Hara

Amahj Gowans, the senior running back for Cardinal O’Hara, was the Catholic League’s leading rusher and Delco’s second-leading rusher with 2,061 yards and 23 touchdowns. His exceptional 2025 season earned All-Catholic League recognition and powered the Lions to the Catholic League Class 4A title. With Gowans leading the way, O’Hara also earned its first PIAA tournament win in program history and advanced to the Class 4A semifinals.

Liam Taylor – Haverford

Liam Taylor, the senior running back for Haverford, rewrote the Delco rushing record book, finishing his career with 5,842 yards to break a mark that Cardinal O’Hara’s Kevin Jones had owned for 25 years. The 2024 Daily Times Player of the Year, Taylor ran for 2,079 yards and 27 touchdowns in 2025 and finished with 70 career touchdowns, fourth most in county history. Taylor was the driving force for a Fords team that finished 8-4 and qualified for the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. He also excelled on defense at middle linebacker with 80 tackles and two forced fumbles.

Daron Harris – Chester

Daron Harris, the senior wide receiver for Chester, was a four-year starter and one of the best all-around football talents to come out of Delco since the turn of the century. A Temple signee, Harris finished his career with 107 receptions for 2,561 yards, ranking fifth all-time in the county. In 2025, he helped the Clippers to a 13-1 season and a District 1 Class 5A championship game appearance, hauling in 33 catches for 743 yards and seven touchdowns. A three-time All-Delco selection, Harris was the top multi-purpose player in Delco. He also recorded four interceptions as a shutdown defensive back and made an impact on special teams, including punting duties.

Jackson Orcutt – Episcopal Academy

Jackson Orcutt, the senior wide receiver for Episcopal Academy, was the county’s top wide receiver, hauling in 50 passes for 909 yards and 10 touchdowns. He set Inter-Ac League records for most receiving yards in a season and most career touchdown catches. His production helped the Churchmen go 9-1 and share the Inter-Ac championship. He is committed to play lacrosse at the University of North Carolina.

Shemaj Henry – Chester

Shemaj Henry, the 6-8, 320-pound senior tackle for Chester, dominated the line of scrimmage for the Clippers. With Henry anchoring the front, Chester was one of the most explosive offenses in Delco, averaging 174 rushing yards and better than 31 points per game. Henry overpowered defenders, recording 22 pancake blocks. A two-way player, Henry also contributed on the defensive line, finishing with 13 tackles. He is headed to Syracuse to continue his football career.

Emmett Gillespie – Haverford

Emmett Gillespie, the 6-1, 245-pound senior center for Haverford, was the leading force on the Fords’ offensive line, opening lanes for Liam Taylor’s record-setting seasons in 2024 and 2025. Gillespie helped the Fords rush for nearly 7,600 yards over those two years. A two-way lineman, he earned All-Central League honors for his consistency on both sides of the ball.

James Coskey – Ridley

James Coskey, the 6-3, 250-pound senior tackle for Ridley, was a key contributor to the Green Raiders’ success, opening holes for an offense that averaged 6.3 yards per play. Coskey helped Ridley finish 9-3, place second in the Central League, and earn a trip to the District 1 Class 6A playoffs. He earned All-Central League honors and will continue his football career at Albright College.

Dom Stewart – Springfield

Dom Stewart, the 6-3, 295-pound senior tackle for Springfield, provided stability, dominance and leadership up front for the Cougars, earning All-Central League honors for his efforts. Stewart helped Springfield finish 14-1 and capture the first District 1 championship in program history. With Stewart leading the big boys up front, the Cougars averaged 260 rushing yards and 36.4 points per game, the top marks in Delco. He is headed to Lincoln University.

Nick Farabaugh – Strath Haven

Nick Farabaugh, the senior two-way lineman for Strath Haven, dominated for a Panthers team that went 10-3 and reached the semifinals of the District 1 Class 5A playoffs. A three-year starter, Farabaugh earned All-Central League honors with his stellar contributions on the offensive and defensive lines. He helped the Panthers average more than 250 rushing yards per game while recording 67 tackles and three sacks on defense.

Gavin McLain – Cardinal O’Hara

Gavin McLain, the senior kicker and punter for Cardinal O’Hara, had the combination of accuracy and distance, and was an X-factor for the Catholic League Class 4A champions. He converted 32 of 33 extra-point attempts and made 4 of 5 field goals, with a long of 38 yards. On punts, McLain gained major yardage with booming kicks, averaging 33.4 yards per punt, including a long of 58 yards. He will continue his athletic career at the Naval Academy, where he will play soccer.

Tanner Coll – Springfield

Tanner Coll, the senior athlete for Springfield, thrived as a running back and linebacker for the Cougars. In the backfield, he gained 1,141 yards and scored 13 touchdowns, complementing Valerio’s work. Coll was also a weapon in the passing game, hauling in 24 catches for 353 yards and three scores. An All-Central League selection, Coll was a physical presence at linebacker, recording 67 tackles, three sacks, and an interception. He has garnered interest from West Chester and Shippensburg.
