All-Delco Defensive Standouts

The All-Delco defense features a group of standout players who made significant contributions to their teams during the 2025 season. These athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, leadership, and determination on the field, earning recognition for their performances.

C.J. Amobi, Bonner & Prendergast

C.J. Amobi, a senior edge player, was a key member of the Friars’ defense. He recorded 53 tackles, 6.5 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery. His performance earned him All-Catholic League honors and helped the Friars reach the Catholic League Class 4A final. Amobi’s impact was crucial in the team’s run to the Class 4A state championship in 2024. A Maxwell Award winner, he is set to join the University of Massachusetts.

Tristan Laing, Cardinal O’Hara

Tristan Laing, a senior two-way lineman, was a force in the trenches for the Lions. An All-Catholic League selection, Laing moved into a full-time role on the defensive line in 2025 and quickly became a difference maker. He totaled 31 tackles, including 11 for loss, recorded seven sacks, and recovered two fumbles. His disruptive presence up front helped fuel O’Hara’s run to the Catholic League Class 4A championship and a berth in the PIAA Class 4A semifinals.

Walt Frazier, Haverford School

Walt Frazier, a senior lineman, was a buzzsaw up front for a Fords team hit hard by injuries at key positions during a 4-6 season. A Syracuse commit, Frazier earned All-Inter-Ac League honors after totaling 53 tackles and 3.5 sacks. A two-time All-Delco, he also thrived on the offensive line.

Jerrell Palmer, Chester

Jerrell Palmer, a senior linebacker, was a four-year starter and the tone-setter for the Clippers. A two-time All-Delco selection, Palmer anchored a defense that recorded six shutouts during a memorable 2025 run that ended with a fourth straight Del Val League title and a berth in the District 1 Class 5A final. He totaled 130 tackles, including 11 for loss, and recorded over 400 tackles in his career. Palmer also delivered at running back, accumulating 699 rushing yards and five touchdowns.

Jamil Abdul-Malik, Episcopal Academy

Jamil Abdul-Malik, a senior linebacker, was a game changer for the Inter-Ac League co-champion Churchmen. Abdul-Malik compiled 75 tackles, including 6.5 for loss, a forced fumble, and an interception. He contributed in a big way to the offense as part of a running back by committee system, producing 324 yards and eight touchdowns. Abdul-Malik was the top defensive vote-getter for the All-Inter-Ac team. He has offers from Widener, Stevenson, Lincoln, and Ursinus, among others.

Paxton Hunt, Garnet Valley

Paxton Hunt, a senior linebacker, was exceptional on both sides of the ball for the Jaguars. An All-Central League selection, Hunt ran for 1,108 yards and 17 touchdowns while totaling 115 tackles, including 12 for loss, with two forced fumbles and a sack. He helped Garnet Valley finish 8-4 and reach the District 1 Class 5A quarterfinals. Also an All-Delco wrestler, Hunt will continue his football career at Franklin & Marshall.

Kevin Farley, Ridley

Kevin Farley, a junior linebacker, was a sideline-to-sideline playmaker for the Green Raiders. An All-Central League selection, Farley anchored the defense for a Ridley squad that went 9-3 and reached the District 1 Class 6A tournament. He piled up 108 tackles, including 12 for loss, with two sacks, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He returns next season as one of the top linebackers in District 1.

Shadrach George, Chester

Shadrach George, a senior defensive back, was a true do-it-all weapon for the 13-1 Clippers. A lockdown cover man, George also led the team in rushing, made plays in the passing game, handled kicking duties, and was a threat on kick and punt returns. Defensively, he recorded six interceptions, three pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. On offense, he rushed for 746 yards and seven touchdowns, and added 16 receptions for 355 yards and five scores.

Jahmir Brown, Episcopal Academy

Jahmir Brown, a senior defensive back, was a shutdown presence in the secondary for a Churchmen defense that allowed fewer than 10 points per game. A three-year starter, Brown earned All-Inter-Ac League honors in 2025. He totaled 31 tackles with eight pass breakups and two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Brown also contributed on offense, hauling in 12 receptions for 155 yards and three scores.

Brett Wolski, Marple Newtown

Brett Wolski, a senior defensive back, provided one of the most complete seasons in the county, accumulating more than 2,000 all-purpose yards, including 1,310 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. An All-Central League honoree, Wolski helped Marple Newtown reach the District 1 Class 5A playoffs and added 65 tackles and six interceptions in the secondary.

Mikey Enright, Radnor

Mikey Enright, a senior defensive back, was a versatile playmaker and a bright spot for a Raptors team that managed just two wins in 2025. As a safety, Enright amassed 65 tackles, 10 pass breakups, five interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. An All-Central League selection, he also led Radnor in production on offense and special teams, finishing with more than 1,000 all-purpose yards.

TJ Valletti, Springfield

TJ Valletti, a junior, earned recognition as an outstanding athlete for a Cougars team that advanced to the PIAA Class 5A semifinals and finished 14-1. At linebacker, he was a tackling machine, totaling 73 stops with four interceptions and seven pass breakups, including two pick-sixes. On offense, Valletti powered the ground game for the Central League and District 1 Class 5A champions, rushing for 522 yards and eight touchdowns.
