Utah’s Upset Victory Over TCU

In a thrilling game that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Lani White delivered a clutch performance to lead Utah to an impressive upset over previously unbeaten and eighth-ranked TCU. With just 12 seconds left in regulation, White sank a crucial 3-pointer that forced the game into overtime. She finished with a team-high 25 points, showcasing her ability to carry the Utes through tough moments.

Utah (11-4, 2-1 Big 12) managed to outscore the Horned Frogs 20-10 in the extra period, turning a close game into a decisive victory. The Utes struggled for much of the game but found their rhythm in the third quarter, where they outscored TCU 18-11 to take a two-point lead heading into the fourth. The Utes’ largest lead of 10 points came at the end of the game, solidifying their win.

White was instrumental in this victory, making 9 of 17 shots from the floor, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc. She also shot 3 of 3 from the free-throw line. UConn Dominates Seton Hall

No. 1 UConn continued its dominance in the Big East Conference with an 84-48 victory over Seton Hall. She played 25 minutes and helped the Huskies secure their third straight win by at least 36 points.

Azzi Fudd added 16 points, and Allie Ziebell contributed 12 points as UConn capitalized on 32 turnovers by Seton Hall, scoring 35 points off those mistakes. The Huskies led 19-11 after one quarter, 38-18 at halftime, and 67-26 after three quarters.

For Seton Hall (10-5, 4-2), Jordana Codio was the top scorer with 12 points but also committed 10 turnovers, which hurt the Pirates’ chances.

UCLA Shuts Down USC

No. 4 UCLA extended its winning streak to eight games with an 80-46 victory over No. 17 Southern California. Lauren Betts had a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Bruins to a dominant second-quarter performance where they outscored USC 27-12.

UCLA (14-1, 4-0 Big Ten) started the game tied with USC 16-16 after the first quarter but then outscored the Trojans 64-30 the rest of the way. Gianna Kneepkens (15 points), Kiki Rice (14), and Gabriela Jaquez (12) all reached double figures for the Bruins, who had a 46-26 rebounding advantage.

USC (10-4, 2-1) was led by Kara Dunn with 11 points, while star freshman Jazzy Davidson scored 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting. The Trojans shot just 8 of 24 from 3-point range, ending their three-game winning streak.

Texas Tech Makes History

No. 21 Texas Tech continued its historic season with an 80-49 win over Arizona. The Lady Raiders improved to 16-0 and 3-0 in the Big 12, marking the best start to a season in program history.

Five players scored in double figures for Texas Tech: Denae Fritz (16), Bailey Maupin (13), Adlee Blacklock (15), Jada Malone (14), and Snudda Collins (11). Gemma Nunez contributed eight rebounds and eight assists with no turnovers.

Stephanie Okechukwu, a 7-foot-1 freshman from Nigeria, sat on the bench while awaiting the NCAA’s ruling on her eligibility. She would be the tallest player in women’s college basketball history. Without her, the Lady Raiders blocked a season-high 11 shots against Arizona (9-5, 0-3). Tanyuel Welch was the only Wildcat to score in double figures with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Princeton Edges Penn in Ivy League Opener

Olivia Hutcherson scored 20 points and Fadima Tall grabbed eight rebounds as Princeton defeated Penn 74-68 in the Ivy League opener for both teams. Madison St. Rose added 15 points as Princeton (13-1) extended its winning streak to 11 games.

The Tigers have not lost since an 84-68 setback to then-No. 9 Maryland on Nov. 16. Penn (10-4) was led by Mataya Gayle’s 17 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. The Quakers outscored the Tigers 22-19 in the fourth quarter.
