Top Performers in Boys Hockey

Star senior Tyler Bourgea continued his impressive season with a hat trick and three assists, helping Tewksbury (6-0) set a new all-time scoring record with 149 career points. This achievement came during a 9-0 victory over Newton South in the MVC/DCL league. Bourgea also broke the school record for career goals (66) in the game prior. The Redmen have been dominant, scoring at least eight goals in each of their last four games.

In another standout performance, Bill Champion and Max Polipas each contributed three points (goal and two assists), while Tim O’Toole and Hunter Fucci added goals and assists to lead Waltham (7-0) to a 4-2 win over North Andover. Meanwhile, Joe Grasso assisted on Declan Daley’s two goals, and Sam Griswold made 34 saves as Concord-Carlisle defeated Acton-Boxboro 2-0.

St. John’s of Shrewsbury (5-2) staged a remarkable comeback against defending Div. 1 state champion Catholic Memorial. Kaden Rorick and Matthew McGinty scored in the third period, and Colin McCarthy made 30 saves to secure a 3-2 victory. This win marked the Pioneers’ fourth straight win and handed the Knights their first loss of the season.

Junior Timmy O’Malley had an outstanding game for Hudson (5-1-1), scoring four goals and adding an assist. He surpassed the 100-point milestone for his career, aided by teammate Jordan Sousa, who also reached 100 points this year. In other games, Jacoby Comeau and Anthony Alessi each scored twice and added an assist, while freshman Marc Poste contributed a goal and three assists to help Lynn defeat Leominster 7-1. Cam McKenna scored twice on the power play, leading Hingham to a 5-0 win over Andover.

Trailing by one entering the third period, Logan Daigle, Brennan Waters, and Anthony Petruccelli each scored for St. John’s Prep, who defeated St. Mary’s of Lynn 3-1. Jesse Bernardinelli made 26 saves in the win. Brody Wolfe sealed a hat trick with an empty-net goal, following Cole Bowen’s game-winner with 5:08 left, as Attleboro edged Oliver Ames 4-2. Grady Bianculli, Jack Gresham, and Damon MacKinnon each scored twice, leading King Philip to a 14-2 win over Foxboro.

In the Patriot League, Chris Ryan, Nic Beltramini, and Luke Tracey all found the back of the net as Whitman-Hanson narrowly beat Duxbury 3-2.

Girls Hockey Highlights

Tenley Simmons made 21 saves in a shutout as Bishop Stang (5-1-1) defeated Arlington Catholic 2-0 in Catholic Central League action. Kyra Brouillard scored her first varsity goal, and Meg Costa added an empty-netter. In another key matchup, seventh-grader Emma Doucette scored the game-winning goal with 7:46 left, and St. Mary’s of Lynn (5-0) secured a 2-1 win over Bishop Feehan after a crucial 5-on-3 penalty kill.

Lucey Jean and Morgan Bieler each recorded hat tricks, leading Hopkinton (2-4) to a 7-0 win over Ashland Co-op. The Hillers have won two straight games after dropping their first four. Leah Carlson and Genna MacDonald each contributed a goal and two assists, while Kam Perachi made 16 saves to help Medfield beat Norwood 4-0. Erin Gannon scored twice, and Jennifer Lin stood out in net as Westwood rebounded from a three-goal loss to defeat Dedham 5-1.

Amelia Serino scored two shorthanded goals, and Reese Ferrara and Fran Indrisano each had a goal and two assists, supporting Riley Towse’s 17 saves in a 4-1 nonleague win for Winthrop over Burlington. Cadence Dionne made 27 saves, backing Maddie Cantor, who scored four times, as Norwell/Scituate/Abington (4-2) defeated Hanover 6-0.

Becca Sobol and Izzy Thibert each scored and assisted on each other’s goals, helping Shawsheen/Bedford/Lowell (5-0) defeat Central Catholic 2-0 in a key league matchup. Sabrina Stone, Mia Cataruzolo, and Nayeli Thayer led the attack for Milton (6-1), with Sophie McCosker earning her first win in net as the Wildcats beat Braintree 7-2.

Junie McCabe set up Josie Chang for the lone goal of the game in the second period, helping Winchester earn a 1-0 win over Arlington in the Middlesex League Liberty division.

Boys Basketball Highlights

Grant Neal scored 28 points as Lynnfield defeated Reading 83-76. Sean Conroy and Malcolm McMurrow each scored 14 points as Quincy (4-2) rolled over O’Bryant 64-38.

Girls Basketball Highlights

In nonleague play, Avery Terry contributed 18 points, six rebounds, and four assists as Acton-Boxboro defeated Newton North 68-47. Kelsey Hudon finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Aiva Pitman and Kaylee Maier each added 12 points as Dracut defeated Waltham 51-47. Maliah Pierre scored 17 points, and Leah Daley added 11 points as Whitman-Hanson (4-1) beat Silver Lake 47-38.
