The college football transfer portal has become a hotbed of activity, capturing the attention of fans and analysts alike. On the other hand, the Longhorns have also seen several of their own players decide to enter the transfer portal. One such player is Nate Kibble, a redshirt freshman offensive lineman who recently announced his decision to seek a new opportunity.

Texas Loses Nate Kibble to the Transfer Portal

According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, Nate Kibble has entered the transfer portal. Standing at 6-3 and weighing 330 pounds, Kibble spent the last two seasons with the Longhorns. He made three appearances during the 2025 season, including his debut against San Jose State and subsequent games against Sam Houston State and Arkansas.

In 2024, as a freshman, Kibble did not see any game action, using his first year on campus to redshirt. Coming out of Atascocita High School in Humble, Texas, Kibble was rated as a three-star prospect in the Longhorns’ 2024 recruiting class. He was ranked as the No. 53 interior offensive lineman in his class by 247Sports and the No. 101 player from the Lone Star State.

Now, the former three-star prospect is looking for a new place to play, adding to the ongoing changes within the program.

Texas’ Offensive Line Set to Look A Lot Different Heading into 2026

The Longhorns’ offensive line could undergo another major transformation, similar to what happened before the 2025 season. This time, the focus is on the interior of the unit, as starting right guard DJ Campbell and starting left guard Cole Hutson are both out of eligibility. Starting center Connor Robertson is also considering his future.

Another potential loss for the offensive line is star left tackle Trevor Goosby, who faces a big decision: whether to enter the NFL or return for another season.

With only one spot secured—sophomore right tackle Brandon Baker—the Longhorns now face an even greater need on the offensive line. The recent departure of key players has made this position a top priority for the program as they look to strengthen their roster through the transfer portal.
