According to Tracking Football and SportSource Analytics, roughly 16% of FBS and FCS rostered players in 2025 are currently in the transfer portal. This makes for an unpredictable and fast-paced environment that requires constant attention.

For the Longhorns, this is expected to be the busiest portal cycle under Steve Sarkisian’s leadership. To help navigate the chaos, I’m providing a daily round-up of all the rumors, visits, commitments, and other developments surrounding the Longhorns over the next 14 days.

Day One Highlights

Day one was incredibly busy for Sarkisian and his staff, so let’s break down some of the key players and their status:

Cam Coleman – Auburn WR

Coleman is the standout name in today’s transfer portal class. He appears to be in Austin as I write this, with interest from several schools. Texas A&M and Alabama are the main competition, but the goal is for Coleman to not make visits to either. If Texas can secure his commitment, it could happen within the next 24-48 hours.

Isaac Brown – Louisville RB

Another player who seems to be in a strong position with the Longhorns is Isaac Brown, a star running back. The 247Sports Staff has projected him to Texas, and he’s rumored to be in Austin this weekend. While Miami, his hometown team, is a potential competitor, the Longhorns seem to have a solid chance of landing him. A commitment could come soon.

Michigan Offensive Linemen

Texas has started its search for offensive linemen, and it looks like they’re eyeing players from Michigan. Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarnera, both All-B1G selections, have caught the attention of the coaching staff. Missouri is also showing interest in Sprague, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Guarnera entered the portal with a no-contact tag, meaning he and his representatives will reach out to schools rather than the other way around. Texas has shown interest in both, which could lead to significant improvements in the offensive line for 2026. However, this isn’t the end of the story for Texas on the offensive line.

Ian Geffrard – DT Arkansas

Geffrard is set to visit Texas today and is likely to be the leader in his recruitment. Standing at 6’5″ and over 380 pounds, he would be a perfect fit for Will Muschamp’s defense. With Cole Brevard moving on to the NFL, adding a top-tier nose tackle is a priority. Despite interest from Auburn, SMU, and Kentucky, Texas is in a strong position to land him.

Jayden Woods – Florida EDGE

Woods is another player who may be in DKR as you read this. He had a stellar freshman season for the Gators, earning Freshman All-SEC honors. His performance includes 2.5 sacks, 5 TFLs, and an interception. Adding him to the edge rushing room would bring depth and potential beyond 2026. Texas seems to be the clear favorite, so this is one to watch closely.

Robert Woodyard – Auburn LB

Woodyard is seen as the ideal replacement for Anthony Hill, and that means he has plenty of interest. According to 247Sports, he is currently visiting Kentucky and will then go to Missouri. However, there’s talk of a possible visit to Texas. Reporter Eric Nahlin predicts he might commit to Miami, making this a highly unpredictable recruitment. If Texas can get him on campus, they’ll do everything possible to keep him.

Edwin Joseph – DB Florida State

Joseph is currently in Austin and is a game-changer on the backend. He recorded 37 tackles and 3 interceptions this season for the Seminoles. Georgia, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State are the main competitors for his commitment. Texas needs an experienced safety, and Joseph fits the bill perfectly.

Derek Williams – S Texas

This situation is a bit unusual. Derek Williams Jr., who was previously reported to be considering the portal, may be leaning toward staying in Austin. This would be a big win for the Longhorns, especially with Blake Gideon returning. A decision is expected soon, and Texas seems confident about keeping him.

Gianni Spetic – Memphis K

Replacing Mason Shipley and Jack Bouwmeester is a priority for the Longhorns. Gianni Spetic, a Lou Groza semifinalist from Memphis, is a strong candidate to fill the gap left by Shipley. He went 15/20 this season, including 4/5 from over 50 yards. Signs point to a commitment soon, so we may see news about his decision tomorrow.
