The Legacy of Blake Griffin and Chris Bosh

During his prime, Blake Griffin became one of the most celebrated superstars in the NBA. His explosive dunks and incredible leaping ability left a lasting impression on fans. However, like many high-athletic players, Griffin faced numerous injuries throughout his career. By the time he officially retired in 2023, he was no longer the high-flying power forward he once was.

Recently, Griffin was asked how he would perform if he were to play in today’s NBA on a 10-day contract and what his stat line would look like in 25 minutes per game. According to Griffin, fans shouldn’t expect anything spectacular from him if that were to happen.

Bosh felt the same way as Griffin. Apart from Griffin, Chris Bosh was another All-Star power forward who was asked the same exact question in a more recent NBA event by the same outlet. Like Blake, Chris was also certain that he wouldn’t be showing any shades of his old self if he played in today’s NBA on a 10-day contract.

“25 minutes of action? In a game, right now? Oooh! [I’ll post] Zero [points], zero [rebounds] and 25 minutes played [laughs],”
Bosh jokingly replied.
When asked how many fouls he would be getting, Bosh shamelessly answered,
“Five!”

Bosh and Griffin may be laughing at themselves now, but back in their primes, they were no joke on the hardwood. It’s also worth noting that they may have identical ideas about how they would perform on a 10-day contract in today’s game, but their careers ended in completely opposite ways.

In February 2015, when CB4 was playing in his 13th season in the league, he was diagnosed with a rare health condition. Even though he didn’t want to, Bosh was forced to retire due to life-threatening blood clots.
