Final Week of the 2025 NFL Season

The Las Vegas Raiders are preparing for their final game of the 2025 NFL season, set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 18 on January 4 at Allegiant Stadium. This matchup is highly anticipated, but before the game, one player from the Chiefs’ side is facing consequences for actions during a previous match.

On January 3, the NFL released its Gameday Accountability report, which included Kansas City’s Kingsley Suamataia. As part of the fine process, players are notified of any violations they may have committed and have the opportunity to appeal any rulings. The appeals are handled by officers and former NFL players such as Derrick Brooks, Ramon Foster, or Jordy Nelson, who are jointly appointed and paid by the NFL/NFLPA. Their decisions are final and binding.

Suamataia received a fine for his actions during the second quarter of the game against the Denver Broncos. Specifically, he committed an unnecessary roughness infraction at the 12:49-minute mark by striking, kicking, tripping, or kneeing an opposing player. As a result, the NFL has fined him $8,108.

Additional Fines for Raiders Players

Suamataia is not the only player heading into the Chiefs-Raiders game who has been fined. The report also listed two players from the Las Vegas Raiders: Tommy Eichenberg and Jonah Laulu.

Like with Suamataia, these players were notified of their violations and had the chance to appeal. The same panel of appeals officers and former players handle these cases, and their decisions are final and binding.

Eichenberg received the largest fine among the two Raiders players. His infraction occurred in the fourth quarter at the 12:29-minute mark. The league fined him $5,802 for unnecessary roughness due to striking, kicking, tripping, or kneeing an opposing player.

Laulu’s infraction happened in the fourth quarter at the 6:36-minute mark, and the NFL fined him $5,333 for unnecessary roughness related to a late hit.

A Farewell for Travis Kelce?

As the Chiefs-Raiders game approaches, there is speculation that it could be the final game of tight end Travis Kelce’s career. With this in mind, Raiders linebacker Devin White shared his thoughts on facing the veteran player and commented on his remarkable career.

“Overall, he’s the best,” White said about Kelce (h/t Vegas Sports Today). “I think he’ll go down as the best ever in the game. Maybe a long time from now, somebody can pass him… I feel like he takes the cake with just his savvy, being able to get open. The emotion, the swagger that he plays with. I think that helps him along the way.”

“It just shows you why he’s a fan favorite. He’s able to accumulate the Super Bowls, All-Pros, and Pro Bowls to go down as a Hall of Famer. So it’ll be good. If it’s his last game, I don’t know. But it’ll be good to play against him and be able to compete because one thing about him, he’s a competitor on the field. It’ll be good to go against him.”
