However, the Gophers responded with a 12-3 run that changed the momentum of the game. This surge was fueled by two of Grove’s dunks, a three-point play by Tyson, and contributions from Reynolds and Jalen Crocker-Johnson. The Gophers eventually extended their lead to six points and held on tightly in the final minute as Northwestern made a desperate attempt to come back.

Standout Performances

It’s challenging to single out just one standout player, as several individuals contributed significantly to the win. Isaac Asuma’s 18 points, tying his career high, were impressive. Reynolds’ 5/6 performance from the free-throw line was nothing short of miraculous. Cade Tyson’s 24 points in a road Big Ten game were also crucial. However, the most remarkable performance belonged to Grayon Grove, who scored 12 points off the bench, including four dunks in the second half. Given the team’s thin rotation, where Asuma, Tyson, and Reynolds played over 40 minutes, Grove’s contribution was invaluable.
