The Next Generation of the Busch Family

The Busch family has long been a name synonymous with speed and competition in the world of motorsports. With two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch at the helm, it’s no surprise that his children are already showing signs of following in their father’s footsteps. While his son Brexton has already made a name for himself by competing successfully at the recent Tulsa Shootout, the youngest member of the family, three-year-old Lennix, is also showing an early interest in racing.

According to Lennix’s mother, Samantha, the young girl is already displaying a strong desire to be behind the wheel. In a recent episode of her “Certified Oversharer” podcast, Samantha shared some amusing insights into Lennix’s growing passion. She mentioned that Lennix is “bound and determined to get a car,” and while she may not yet understand the concept of driving, she’s clearly captivated by the idea of having her own vehicle.

A Pink Car and a Fire Suit

When asked if Lennix was excited about driving again, Samantha joked that her daughter is more interested in a pink car and a pink fire suit. “We’ll see,” she added with a laugh. To help Lennix get accustomed to the idea of racing, Kyle and Samantha decided to gift her a Millbridge cadet kart for her birthday. Samantha explained that Lennix already enjoys playing around in a yard cart, so they thought it would be a good way to introduce her to the world of racing.

However, getting Lennix used to the kart might not be as simple as they hoped. Samantha admitted that the toddler is “wild” and has already shown a tendency to push the limits. She described an incident where Lennix attempted to navigate a hill in their backyard. “We told her she could go up the hill and ride over the hill and come down in a certain spot where it’s really like gradual,” Samantha said. But instead of taking the safe route, Lennix went straight up the steepest part and then turned sharply, causing the kart to lift on two wheels. “She somehow got it back down and we were like — and then she wanted to do it again and we were like, ‘Absolutely [not].'”

Learning from the Pros

Samantha believes that Lennix’s sudden interest in a kart may be influenced by her admiration for other young racers. She noted that Lennix has been watching Cup Series champion Kyle Larson’s daughter, Audrey, compete at the Tulsa Shootout. “I think she sees like all the kids at the Shootout, and now that Audrey Larson has a fire suit, she’s like, ‘Mom. Did you see her car? Did you see her fire suit?’ I think she’s more excited about that versus actual racing,” Samantha said.

While it’s still too early to tell if Lennix will follow in her father’s footsteps, the Busch family seems to be preparing for the possibility. However, Kyle’s time to coach his youngest daughter may be limited. Starting in February, the NASCAR Cup Series will kick off with the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, followed by the Daytona 500 on February 15. This event marks the beginning of a new season, and Kyle, who won the Daytona 500 once in 2017, will be focused on his own racing career.
