Rondo pointed out that the slump coincided with Giannis missing games, his name being constantly mentioned in trade rumors, and the Bucks fans booing their own players. This has only intensified Giannis’ frustration.

“Let me answer that. To me, we just have not bought into everybody starting in their role consistently enough. I think that’s the frustrating part. Obviously, big fella missed a lot of games, and you know, it’s a big thing now how we’re trynna be good without Giannis on the court,” Rondo said.

“We may go through a few possessions where we don’t take care of the ball or don’t get a stop, and that’s where the gap continues to grow. It’s magnified now because of the trade deadline and rumors here and there. It’s all magnified; even though it’s a small market, it’s still Giannis’ team. We’re going through it, but it’s the NBA grind. Every season, you can’t win a championship. Again, we do have some great pieces.”

The Need for a Last-Surge Move

While younger players like Ryan Rollins have shown promise, veterans such as Myles Turner, Kyle Kuzma, and Gary Trent Jr. have all seen their scoring averages dip from last season. This highlights just how much responsibility Giannis was forced to carry when he returned to the court, both physically and mentally.

If the Bucks truly want to make a last-stitch experiment with Giannis, they need to make a smart, bold, and big move that can alter the team’s trajectory almost instantly. Otherwise, Giannis might be on his way out sooner rather than later.
