A New Era of Super Bowl Fashion and Culture

The NFL is making headlines with a major update ahead of Super Bowl LX. The event, which is the most-watched football game of the year, is not only about the game itself but also about the cultural moments that take place around it. This year, one of those moments is the collaboration between the league and Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican music superstar.

Bad Bunny is not just headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl halftime show; he’s also partnering with the NFL for a special fashion release. This partnership marks a significant step in the integration of Latin culture into the fabric of American sports.

Limited-Edition Capsule Collections

The NFL announced that Bad Bunny has helped design two limited-edition capsule collections. These collections will be available online and in-person during Super Bowl week, offering fans a unique opportunity to own a piece of history.

This is the first time that official NFL merchandise will feature Spanish translations of Super Bowl branding. This move is historic and reflects the growing influence of Spanish-speaking communities in the United States.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Bad Bunny worked with the NFL and Ceremony of Rose to create two collections. The first one, called the Fans/Concho Collection, is already available. It is inspired by the Puerto Rican toad, a symbol that Bad Bunny uses in his music visuals. The collection includes hats, shirts, and a keychain, with designs for all 32 NFL teams.

The second collection, called the “Super Tazón” Collection, will be released after Bad Bunny’s halftime performance on February 8. “Super Tazón” means “Super Bowl” in Spanish. The NFL says this drop is meant to match the energy of his performance and the importance of the moment.

Both collections can be pre-ordered online at NFLShop.com, Fanatics.com, NewEraCap.com, and elsupertazon.com. Some items will also be sold at the NFL Shop at the Super Bowl Experience in San Francisco’s Moscone Center starting February 3.

A Controversial Choice

Bad Bunny will be the main performer for the Super Bowl halftime show, even after some people criticized the NFL for choosing him. In October, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league will not change its decision. Goodell explained that when you pick a performer for such a big event, some people will always disagree, per ESPN.

Goodell also said Bad Bunny is “one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world.” He pointed out that the Super Bowl stage is very important, and the NFL carefully plans who performs.

Cultural Representation and Inclusion

Bad Bunny has also used his voice to support Latin culture and history. When he was first announced as the halftime performer, he said the moment was not only for him, but for the people who came before him. He told the NFL, “This is for my people, my culture, and our history.”

The NFL also announced a special Puerto Rican Sign Language program for the halftime show. It will be led by Celimar Rivera Cosme, a deaf performer from Puerto Rico. This is part of the NFL’s effort to honor Bad Bunny’s heritage and bring more inclusion to the event.

Additional Performances During Super Bowl Week

During Super Bowl week, other artists will also perform in the Bay Area. Country stars Chris Stapleton and Post Malone, EDM duo The Chainsmokers and singer-songwriter Olivia Dean are all set to perform during the event week.
