Second Half Struggles for the Vols

Tennessee came out strong in the second half, reclaiming the lead just under a minute into the period with a three-point shot from Ja’Kobe Gillespie. Gillespie proved to be a key player, hitting crucial three-pointers later in the game. His clutch performance helped break up an Arkansas 11-0 run that left the Razorbacks ahead 66-58.

Despite the Vols going on a scoring drought for over five minutes, Gillespie’s timely three-pointer brought the game back within five points. However, Arkansas quickly extended their lead again, adding an eight-point run to take a double-digit advantage. This stretch proved to be the final blow for the Vols, who were unable to recover.

Amari Evans Shines in Defeat

Amari Evans led the Vols in scoring with a career-high performance. The freshman guard was perfect from the floor, making 7-of-7 shots, including one from beyond the arc. He also added one made free throw, showing his efficiency on the court. Evans played the most minutes of his season so far and has now scored in double digits for two consecutive games. His total of 30 points over the last two contests surpasses what he has scored in the rest of the season combined.
