The college football offseason is a time of change, where rosters are constantly reshaped as players move between institutions. Whether it’s following a coach, seeking a fresh start, moving closer to home, or looking for more playing time, the reasons for transferring are as varied as the players themselves. While some athletes stay at a school for their entire college career, this trend has become less common. For Michigan football, retaining players has been a strength, but there will still be those who choose to leave.

Here’s a look at the Wolverines who have entered the transfer portal and those who have committed to joining new coach Kyle Whittingham in Ann Arbor.

Players Transferring to Michigan

One of the first transfers to Michigan under Whittingham was long snapper Nico Crawford, who moved from Pitt to Ann Arbor on January 6. A native of Dublin, Ohio, Crawford began his college career at Illinois before joining Charlotte and then Pitt. He was ranked as the No. 16 long-snapping prospect coming out of high school.

Michigan Football Players in the Transfer Portal

CB Zeke Berry

Zeke Berry, a third-team All-Big Ten safety, has entered the transfer portal. However, he has since withdrawn his name and plans to return to Michigan. Berry started the past two seasons under defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, who has since been replaced by Jay Hill.

RB Bryson Kuzdzal

Bryson Kuzdzal, a former walk-on from Grand Rapids, appeared in nine games during the 2025 season. He had a strong finish, running for 76 yards and four touchdowns, and even started against Maryland, where he recorded career highs with 20 carries for 100 yards and three touchdowns.

QB Mikey Keene

Mikey Keene, a graduate student, transferred to Michigan after playing at Central Florida and Fresno State. Despite his experience, he never saw game action due to an upper body injury that kept him out of practice during spring ball. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

TE Brady Prieskorn

Brady Prieskorn, a former four-star tight end, played in three games for Michigan but never recorded a reception. He has four years of eligibility left and will now seek opportunities elsewhere.

OL Jake Guarnera

Starting right guard Jake Guarnera has entered the transfer portal, surprising many given his previous praise for Whittingham. Guarnera, a former Ponte Vedra, Fla., player, was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention and finished with the best offensive grade among linemen according to Pro Football Focus. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

DL Enow Etta

Enow Etta, the highest-rated player in Michigan’s 2023 recruiting class, has also entered the portal. He recorded 20 tackles and one sack in his time with the Wolverines and has two years of eligibility remaining.

WR Logan Forbes

Logan Forbes, a backup wide receiver and special teams contributor, has entered the portal. He was named Scout Team Player of the Year on offense in 2024 and has two years of eligibility remaining.

OL Kaden Strayhorn

Kaden Strayhorn, the son of former Michigan State color commentator Jason Strayhorn, has entered the portal after appearing in two games in 2025. He has four years of eligibility remaining.

OL Andrew Sprague

Redshirt freshman Andrew Sprague, a starting right tackle, has entered the transfer portal. He was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection and had a strong season before being sidelined in the Citrus Bowl. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

DL Devon Baxter

Devon Baxter, who did not suit up for Michigan during his two seasons, has entered the portal. He could potentially have four years of eligibility remaining if granted a medical redshirt.

S Jaden Mangham

Jaden Mangham, a former Spartan, has entered the portal after two years at Michigan. He recorded 30 tackles and two pass breakups in 13 games and has four years of eligibility remaining.

S Zeke Berry

Zeke Berry, a third-team All-Big Ten safety, has entered the portal. He recorded 74 tackles and three interceptions over 37 games with the Wolverines.

RB Jasper Parker

Jasper Parker, a rising sophomore, has entered the transfer portal. He ran 25 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns in his true freshman season and has three years of eligibility remaining.

WR Semaj Morgan

Semaj Morgan, a slot receiver, has entered the portal after a junior season that included eight drops and struggles in the return game. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

LB Cole Sullivan

Cole Sullivan, one of Michigan’s most impactful defensive players, has entered the transfer portal. He had 44 tackles, five for loss, and three interceptions in 2025 and has three years of eligibility remaining.

CB Elijah Dotson

Elijah Dotson, a freshman cornerback, has entered the portal just before the deadline. He had 11 tackles and an interception in his first season and has three years of eligibility remaining.

QB Davis Warren

Davis Warren, the 2024 starting quarterback, has entered the transfer portal. He has two years of eligibility remaining after a redshirt season and a medical redshirt.

QB Jadyn Davis

Jadyn Davis, once seen as the heir apparent to J.J. McCarthy, has also entered the portal. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

WR Fredrick Moore

Fredrick Moore, a former three-star from St. Louis, became U-M’s first player to hit the portal in early October. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

OL Connor Jones

Senior tackle Connor Jones announced his portal plans in early December. He has one year of eligibility remaining.
