Missouri Tigers Show Interest in Wide Receiver Caleb Goodie

The Missouri Tigers have scheduled a visit with former Cincinnati wide receiver Caleb Goodie, according to reports. Goodie, who spent one season with the Bearcats, is set to make the trip to Columbia on January 5. This move highlights the team’s ongoing efforts to bolster their wide receiver position through the transfer portal.

Goodie began his college career at Colorado State, where he redshirted during his freshman year in 2023. He only recorded one reception that season but made an impact as a sophomore in 2024, catching 21 passes for 436 yards and four touchdowns. Additionally, he rushed for 87 yards on five carries during that season.

In his first and only year with the Bearcats, Goodie contributed 484 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions. He was the second-leading receiver for top transfer portal quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who is currently ranked as the No. 2 player in the transfer portal according to 247Sports.

Goodie, a true junior from Port Arthur, Texas, was initially ranked as a low three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was ranked No. 1,731 nationally and No. 252 at his position, according to composite rankings. Colorado State was his only college offer, which speaks to the challenges he faced early in his career.

Expanding the Search for Talent

The loss of players such as Joshua Manning, Marquis Johnson, James Madison II, and Daniel Blood has left the wide receiver room with limited options. Currently, the team only has Donovan Olugbode, DaMarion Fowlkes, Shaun Terry II, and two incoming freshmen. This makes it essential for head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff to target experienced and productive players to support the team’s young pass catchers.
