With less than two minutes on the clock, Rutgers managed to cut the deficit down to just three points. They had the ball with around five seconds left, but a last-second turnover by Tariq Francis ended any hopes of a dramatic finish. This loss marked the second time in five games that the Knights have fallen behind significantly only to mount a late comeback that fell just short.

USC dominated the game in several key areas. They outscored Rutgers in the paint by 12 points, shot 51% from the field compared to the Knights’ 39%, and grabbed seven more total rebounds. Ezra Ausar led the Trojans with 21 points, while Jacob Cofie recorded a double-double.

Despite the loss, Rutgers showed some positive signs. They committed nine fewer turnovers than USC, grabbed five more offensive rebounds, and scored 12 more second-chance points.
