Reds Sign Two New Pitchers to Minor League Deals

Anthony Misiewicz: A Veteran Lefty with a Proven Track Record

Misiewicz, 31, brings more experience to the table compared to his new teammate. He was originally selected by the Mariners in the 18th round of the 2015 draft. Daniel, the Angels’ 7th-round pick in 2019, made his major league debut with Anaheim in 2023. Over his first two seasons in the majors, he made nine appearances (six starts) and pitched to a 5.06 ERA with a 4.41 FIP in 42 2/3 innings. His 19.9% strikeout rate and 8.1% walk rate were not impressive, but he showed some potential as a swing option during his time with the Halos.

He was eventually squeezed off the club’s roster and was traded to Atlanta, where he was used for a couple of spot starts in 2025 due to injuries in the team’s rotation. With the Braves, Daniel posted a 5.40 ERA and 5.04 FIP across ten innings. This is more of the same for the righty, and he is expected to offer similar slightly below-average production as a non-roster depth option for the Reds heading into the 2026 campaign.

Cincinnati has a strong rotation led by Hunter Greene and Andrew Abbott, but the team has been considering trades involving pitchers like Brady Singer. If the Reds do move a pitcher like Singer, it could leave them with limited depth behind their starters. That’s where players like Daniel could come in handy, helping to fill any gaps that arise due to injuries throughout the season.
