Before becoming a football star, Brock Purdy attended Iowa State University from 2018 to 2021. During his time there, he became the winningest quarterback in Iowa State history and set or broke 32 program records. His future wife, then known as Jenna Brandt, was also a student-athlete at Iowa State, playing volleyball for the Cyclones from 2018 to 2020. She played in 41 matches during that time before transferring to the University of Northern Iowa for her final season of NCAA volleyball in 2021.

Purdy has often spoken about how Jenna’s athletic background helps her understand the demands of being a top athlete. In October, he shared his appreciation for her support, saying:
