Louisville Welcomes Evan Wibberley as Sixth Transfer from Kentucky

Louisville has added another name to its growing list of transfers, as Evan Wibberley, a redshirt junior offensive lineman from Kentucky, has committed to the Cardinals. This move marks the sixth former Wildcat receiver to transfer to Louisville in this cycle, joining Montavin Quisenberry, Jacob Smith, Jerod Smith, D.J. Waller Jr., and Tommy Ziesmer.

Wibberley spent four seasons at Western Kentucky before making the move to Kentucky. However, he did not see any action during his lone season in Lexington. Now, he will be reuniting with Vince Marrow, the Executive Director of Football Personnel and Recruiting for Louisville. Marrow originally recruited Wibberley to Kentucky before joining Jeff Brohm’s staff prior to the 2025 season.

Strong Offseason for Louisville

Louisville is having an impressive offseason following its 9-4 campaign under head coach Jeff Brohm. The team has made significant moves by securing 14 additions through the Transfer Portal, while also retaining key players like star running back Isaac Brown and EDGE rusher AJ Green, who had initially entered the Portal.

Brown, who played two seasons for the Cardinals, amassed 2,057 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Green became a vital part of the defense in 2025, recording 31 tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble.

The 2025 season started strong for Louisville, as they climbed as high as No. 15 in the College Football Playoff Rankings after a 28-16 victory over Virginia Tech on November 1. At 7-1, the team faced several unranked opponents in the final stretch of the season.

Despite a strong start, the Cardinals dropped three consecutive games against Cal, Clemson, and SMU before finishing the regular season with a 41-0 win over Kentucky. This performance led them to the Boca Raton Bowl, where they defeated Toledo 27-22 to conclude the season with a 9-4 record.
